Truck blaze after tyre burst kills driver in Buxar

Buxar: A truck driver was charred to death after a fire broke out following a collision between a truck and a heavy vehicle near Bhojpur Kothi on NH-922 under the Naya Bhojpur police station area in Buxar district on Monday.The deceased was identified as Devendra Kumar of Gaunriya Raja village under Maharajganj police station area in Uttar Pradesh. He was heading towards Uttar Pradesh from Koilwar in a truck loaded with sand.According to SHO in-charge of Naya Bhojpur police station, Shriram Thakur, the fire started after one of the sand-laden truck's tyres suddenly burst, causing it to go out of control and collide with the other vehicle. "The truck driver could not get time to escape and died in the flames," he said.A Dial 112 unit and a team from Naya Bhojpur police station rushed to the spot and informed the fire service. The fire brigade took about an hour to bring the blaze under control. Only after that was the driver's body retrieved from the cabin. Dumraon circle inspector, Shrinath Kumar, also reached the site and took stock of the situation.Dinanath, driver of the trailer truck and a resident of Pakdi Noniya village under Maharajganj police station area, said, "I parked my vehicle and went to get water. During this time, the tyre of Devendra's truck suddenly burst, causing it to go out of control and colliding with the trailer truck. As soon as the collision took place, the cabin of the truck and the rear part of my vehicle caught fire.
