An 18-month-old baby lost his life and two others were badly burned after fire broke out in a room they were in under Jakkanpur police station in the city on Monday. The injured were battling for life in a private hospital with 90% burn injuries.

PATNA: An 18-month-old baby lost his life and two others were badly burned after fire broke out in a room they were in under Jakkanpur police station in the city on Monday. The injured were battling for life in a private hospital with 90% burn injuries.The incident took place in a room at Bengali Colony on road number 1 of Indira Nagar. The deceased toddler was identified as Abhinav Kumar, the only child of Phalguni Pandey. the other two injured were 19-year-old Sonali and 20-year-old Sujeet alias Golu. Jakkanpur police station SHO Mukesh Verma said an FSL team was called to find out the cause behind fire. “But one thing is clear that it did not occur because of LPG cylinder blast as the cylinder in the adjacent kitchen was intact. However, the room was badly burned and there was smell of kerosene inside,” he said.He further said Sonali had brought Abhinav to meet her friend Sujeet. “Sujeet’s parents had gone to attend a wedding and no one was present in the house when the incident took place,” said Verma.
