Patna: The state government is contemplating to introduce the scheme of awarding scholarships to research scholars who are not able to pursue quality research work for lack of financial support from different national-level funding agencies. The government move has been widely hailed by the academics as well as students of the state.
Generally, after completing a master’s course, students start preparing for competitive exams for different types of jobs available in public or private sector undertakings. On the other side, there are scholars who are more interested in academics and want to have a doctorate degree. Carrying out full-time research work for a PhD degree entails a considerable amount of time as well as money. Hence, students can afford to indulge in costly research activities only if they get some fellowships for the purpose.
