Patna: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, women in positions of authority in their respective sectors shared their perspectives on juggling work and family life, dealing with discrimination, and receiving support from family and friends.
Harjot Kaur Bamhrah, chairman and managing director of Women Development Corporation, told this reporter, “I have had the privilege of serving the people of Bihar, particularly women, for three decades and have never encountered a single instance of workplace discrimination.

I believe that everyone, regardless of gender, must believe in their abilities.”
Usha Jha, president of the Bihar Mahila Udyog Sangh, said, “There is nothing that women cannot accomplish.”
This year’s International Women’s Day is being commemorated by the United Nations under the theme ‘Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow’.
Sudha Varghese, known as Sister Sudha, elaborated on the theme. She stated, “Women from underprivileged sections of society should be empowered today, so that the next generation does not suffer.”
