RJD chief Tejashwi Prasad Yadav experienced a downgrade in his protective measures from Z to Y+, while several BJP dignitaries, such as Nitin Nabin and Union minister Lalan Singh, were bestowed with upgraded Z-category security.
Patna: Security arrangements for several political leaders in Bihar were revised on Thursday with protection for RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Bihar Congress president Rajesh Ram being scaled down. The security for several BJP leaders, on the other hand, was enhanced.Tejashwi’s security cover was downgraded from Z category to Y+. At the same time, BJP national president Nitin Nabin, Union minister Lalan Singh, and state BJP chief Sanjay Saraogi were granted Z-category security. BJP leader Mangal Pandey was also provided Z security. A notification in this regard was issued by the ministry of home affairs.

Tejashwi’s security had earlier been upgraded ahead of the elections. He previously had Y+ security, which was enhanced to Z category and has now been reverted to Y+.The Y+ category includes 11 security personnel, comprising one or two commandos and two personal security officers. Under this arrangement, one Delhi Police constable is deployed as a personal security officer round the clock.Nabin was recently elected as the BJP’s 12th national president, an announcement made at the party headquarters on Tuesday.
