Patna: RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s estranged elder son
Tej Pratap Yadav had a closed-door meeting with Jan Suraaj founder
Prashant Kishor in Patna late Tuesday night, fuelling speculation. The meeting assumes significance since both the leaders put up a disastrous performance in the 2025 assembly elections, drawing a blank.
Informed sources said Tej Pratap went to Sheikhpura House on Tuesday night and was escorted by Kishor inside the room. Although Jan Suraaj described it as a mere courtesy call, Tej Pratap said he had a crucial meeting with Kishor over various issues currently gripping the state. The meeting lasted for an hour.
Turning to social media, Tej Pratap said during the meeting they discussed the changing political equations in the state. “Today was quite significant from a political perspective. I met with Prashant Kishor ji, where we engaged in an in-depth discussion on public interest and the politics of the future,” Tej Pratap posted on social media.
Claiming that during the meeting they talked extensively about the “expectations of the people and the changing political equations”, Tej Pratap said the meeting involved “deliberations on several issues that could shape the direction of politics in the times to come”. “I view this dialogue as a significant experience in my political life, where my resolve to move forward with a positive mindset and the spirit of public service has grown even stronger,” he said.
Jan Suraaj played down the meeting by stating, “Nothing much should be read into this meeting. It was a mere courtesy call,” party’s media in charge Obaidur Rahmen told
TOI on Wednesday.
