Tej: Develop website for promotion of eco-tourism

PATNA: State environment, forest and climate change minister Tej Pratap Yadav on Thursday asked the officials concerned to develop a website for promotion of eco-tourism in the state.

Presiding a meeting, the minister asked the officials to activate the Bihar Forestry Development Corporation Limited (BFDCL) and enhance its area of activities.

"Develop a website to apprise people of the places having importance of eco-tourism. It will help in attracting tourists to these places," he said.

The important places important for eco-tourism in the state are Valmiki Tiger Reserve in West Champaran, Rohtas Manjhar Kund, Sita Kund and Rohatasgarh fort in Rohtas, Rajgir nature safari in Nalanda, Telhar Kund and Mundeshwari temple in Kaimur, Mandar Parvat in Banka and Bhimbandh in Jamui.

The minister also asked the BFDCL to work with a target to achieve a business of Rs 100 crore in a year. Those present in the meeting included EFCC secretary O P Yadav, principal chief conservator of forest Ashutosh, principal chief conservator of forest (development) C P Khanduja and managing director of BFDCL Anil Kumar.
