PATNA: Police on Monday cracked a case of a teenage boy executing his abduction plan to extort money from his affluent father.
Vicky, 16, is a student of a local school. He went missing on Wednesday. Two days later, he called his dad Raghav Dayal, a jeweller, and informed him that he had been kidnapped by four people. He asked him to arrange money to pay to his kidnappers or he would be killed.
But he did not quote any amount.
Dayal on Sunday lodged an FIR in the Gopalpur police station. When police started tracking the boy's cellphone, they found his location changed from Jehanabad to Makhdumpur to Masaurhi. "We suspected something fishy because kidnappers don't change the location of their victims so frequently in one day," said DSP (sadar) Ramakant Prasad.
Based on his last location, police took Vicky's family members to Jehanabad where he was found savouring boiled eggs at an eatery. The boy was handed over to his parents.
