Vigilance sources said that Prasad runs a

public distribution system

(PDS) shop in Dhanarua block and sudden inspection was carried on the PDS shop by the supply inspector on November 29 this year.

"After the inspection, the supply inspector was demanding bribe of RS 35,000 from the PDS shop owner in lieu of not sending the reports of the finding during the inspection to Masaurhi SDO,” said vigilance sources.

They said that the supply inspector finally agreed not to send the report of the inspection carried out by him on payment of Rs 24,000.

“The allegations of the PDS shop owner were found true by the vigilance bureau after which a trap tem was formed and he was arrested red handed from inside his office,” sources said.

When asked, vigilance sources said that it would surface in further investigation that if any irregularity was found at the shop or not during the sudden inspection due to which bribe was demanded by the block supply inspector.
