Sushil Modi tables second supplementary budget of Rs 10,000 crore
PATNA: The second supplementary budget of Rs 10,463.18 crore for the 2018-19 fiscal, tabled in the state
Of the Rs 10,463.18 crore, while Rs 7,601.27 crore is for expenditure on various schemes, Rs 2,767.78 crore will be used for meeting establishment costs under the non-plan head and another chunk of Rs 94.12 crore for the centrally-sponsored schemes.
The two amendment bills – Bihar Maal Aur Sewa Kar (Sanshodhan) Bill, 2018, and Industrial Disputes (Bihar Amendment) Bill, 2018 – were also tabled in the House. While Modi tabled the first amendment bill, the one related to the industrial disputes was tabled by labour resources minister Vijay Kumar Sinha. The two bills will be taken up for discussion in the House either on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Lawmakers from the ruling and opposition benches on Monday conducted themselves as per the rules of the House business. Noisy scenes and raucous slogan-shouting were not created even in the lawn of the state assembly on the first day of the winter session.
Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Choudhary informed the members that the House membership of former minister and senior RJD member Iliyas Hussain had been terminated with effect from August 27 this year owing to his conviction by a court of law in the bitumen scam.
The House paid homage to its former members who died recently. The deceased included Bhishm Narayan Singh (85), Hira Lal Paswan (75), Ram Rup Rai (95), Ramdeo Bhandari (78), Rajendra Prasad Yadav (80), Faiyaz Bhagalpuri (72), Azizul Haque (100),
