Gaya: More than 300 students from five govt and private schools, including 60 from PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, witnessed the inaugural run of the Gaya-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express, flagged off by
PM Narendra Modi via videoconferencing on Friday.
The students, from classes VI to XII, boarded the train from Gaya to Anugrah Narayan Road station on the Gaya-Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay rail section. They later returned to Gaya by another train.
Chief welfare inspector Manoj Kumar, posted at Gaya Junction, said, "Children of KV-I, Anugrah Kanya High School, Param Gyan Niketan, Subhash International and Sunbeam Academy boarded the train during its inaugural run on Friday. Railway officials, including assistant personnel officer Rajesh Kumar and others, were present in each bogie with the students."
Kartik Kumar and Shorya Raj, both Class XII students of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, said, "The students were very excited at getting a chance to at least see the PM in person, if not interact with him. There might be some valid reason that he did not come to Gaya railway station to flag off the two new trains. Anyway, we enjoyed travelling by the train."
A press release from East Central Railway said, "The Amrit Bharat train comprises modern technology design bogies, which ensure comfortable travel for passengers, apart from being economical."
