Block education officer (BEO) Shamshul Hoda reached to school to pacify the parents and students by ensuring that action will be taken against the school and the anti-social elements.
The shameful incident took place during a sporting event- ‘Tarang’ organized on Friday in the CRC building complex located in Bhajore village under Sadar police station area. In this event, students from different school participated. When the girl students of UMS Bhatachak, who came to participate in the competition, were changing their clothes, their videos were secretly recorded by some of the boys of the village. When the students protested about this, they were beaten up.
Alok Kumar Singh, acting principal of the school said students of different school participated in the sporting event. “When the girls of our school were changing their clothes in a room, around 8-10 boys of Bhajore village, were started making video, when the girls protested, they left. When we were leaving after the programme ends, the boys started beating students with sticks. Six students including four girls got injured. The teachers also sustained injuries, when they were trying to protect the kids. I don’t know the names of the boys but they were from other school,” he said.
The police officials at Sadar PS said they were not aware about the matter as no such complaint has been received yet from the school management regarding the incident.
The BEO said the headmaster had to take only the selected students to the competition, however he took all the students but they did not have enough teachers and there were no female teachers. “Action will be taken against those who are found guilty after the probe. Further action will be taken after identifying the youths involved in the incident of assault,” Hoda said.
