PATNA: After intensive raids for more than three days, a joint team of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and

Government Rail Police

(GRP) recovered the stolen fuses weighing around eight kilograms, used in explosive by Indian Army, from a pond near Chorwa mandir located on the outer signal of the Patna Sahib railway station in Patna on Saturday evening.

The fuses, kept inside an iron container, were loaded at Pathankot in Punjab in front parcel van of

Two Army personnel including Lance Naik Kalu Ram, were travelling in the coach just behind the parcel van for security reasons. Only the fuses were loaded inside the van due to security reasons.

The RPF and GRP personnel, who were on toes since Thursday morning looking at the sensitive nature of the incident, finally took a sigh of relief as they were frantically searching for the fuses thinking it might land in wrong hands.

He said that the container in which the fuses were being transported from Pathankot was also recovered from near Gulzarbagh station, just an hour before recovery of the fuses. He said that three suspects were detained by RPF who were rigorously interrogated by the joint team which finally led to recovery of the fuses after series of raids. “Several suspects were quizzed one after another on basis of information extracted from the detained suspects,”
