Bihar registers 344 dengue cases in 24 hours

PATNA: The state logged 344 new dengue cases on Thursday. With this, the state's dengue tally so far this year has increased to 7,775.

Altogether 1,040 cases were registered in the first five days of October alone. On Thursday, 303 dengue patients were undergoing treatment at different hospitals.

According to a dengue bulletin issued by the State Health Society, 131 patients were undergoing treatment at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JNMCH) in Bhagalpur, and 25 patients each at All India Institute of Medical Sciences-Patna (AIIMS-P) and Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS). At Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH), seven patients were undergoing treatment and 21 patients at Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH).

With 179 new cases on Thursday, Patna remained at the top of the list, followed by Saran (20), Bhagalpur (19), Nawada (17) and Munger (16).
