Srijan scam accused sent to judicial custody

Patna: Satish Kumar Jha, an accused in the high-profile Srijan scam case, was produced before a special CBI court in Patna on Wednesday. Jha was arrested by the CBI from Ghaziabad on Tuesday. The court sent Jha to 14-day judicial custody. The CBI is now preparing to take Jha into remand for further interrogation. Jha, who was a sub-coordinator at the time of the scam, is considered a close aide of Manorama Devi, the main accused in the Srijan scam.The CBI filed a chargesheet against Jha on March 24, 2019.The Srijan scam, involving an embezzlement of over Rs 1,000 crore, is one of the biggest financial scams in Bihar's history. The CBI is investigating the case and has arrested many accused so far.
