Sr Rashmi is Patna Women’s College principal

PATNA: Patna Women’s College’s (PWC) geography department head Sister M Rashmi on Saturday joined as the new principal in place of Sister Marie Jessie AC who retired from service on Friday.
Besides, Patna University (PU) philosophy teacher Rama Shankar Arya joined as the new dean of the faculty of humanities in place of Akhilanand Tripathi of Sanskrit department who retired on Friday.
Freshers’ Day: Environmental science (honours) students of Patna Science College presented a lively cultural programme as part of freshers’ day celebrations on Saturday. The final year students accorded a hearty reception to the freshers.
Speaking as the chief guest at the function, PU vice-chancellor Rash Bihari Prasad Singh observed that development of basic sciences was as important as the development of technology for the welfare of human beings. He called upon the students to take up their studies sincerely and work for the amelioration of human sufferings through their scientific innovations.
College principal Radha Kant Prasad and course coordinator Shardendu also addressed the students.
