Soccer match: Sujeet, Gautam declared ‘best players’
PATNA: Sainik School-Nalanda students Sujeet Kumar (junior category) and Gautam Mandal (senior category) emerged as best players in a football match at the closing ceremony of Central Zone Sainik Schools Sports and Co-curricular Activities Championship on Monday.
Vipin Soren and Akash Hansda of Sainik School-Tilaiya bagged the best defender trophies in the junior and senior categories, respectively, in the soccer match organized at Sainik School-Nalanda. Ravi Vishal (junior) and Sudhanshu Ranjan (senior) of Nalanda were declared the best goalkeepers, respectively.
While Sainik School-Nalanda won a hockey match, the runner-up trophy went to Sainik School-Tilaiya. The host school also bagged trophies in volleyball and basketball matches as well as in a debate (Hindi and English) contest.
Sainik School-Bhubaneswar bagged the first prize in a quiz competition while the runner-up trophy went to Nalanda students. More than 360 students from Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar participated in the event.

University registrar, faculty members, students and members of the Bihar State Legal Services Authority were present on the occasion.
“The cell will organise awareness camps and provide legal aid to the needy,” said the VC.
According to Shivam, student co-ordinator of the cell, it will remain open from 3pm to 5pm every Wednesday and Friday.
MMC: Shivani of BCom department was declared Miss Fresher at a Freshers’ Day party organized by Magadh Mahila College on its campus on Monday.
Priyambada and Sonali Priya of chemistry department became the first and second runners-up, respectively. Dressed in beautiful attires, the first-year girls introduced themselves and walked the ramp.
College principal Prof Shashi Sharma handed over sashes and crowns to the winners.
IIT-P: At least 36 teachers attended a workshop on ‘Revitalizing School Physics Education through Concept-oriented Teaching for Physics PGT KV’ organized at Indian Institutes of Technology-Patna (IIT-P) on Monday. The three-day programme was inaugurated by IIT-P director Prof Pushpak Bhattacharya.
The key speakers were IIT-P’s physics department head Utpal Roy, Aryabhatta Knowledge University’s nanotechnology department head Rakesh Kumar Singh and Pataliputra University’s faculty member B C Rai.
