PATNA: Officials of the state vigilance investigation bureau arrested a police sub-inspector,
Mukesh Kumar Singh, of Janata Bazar police station in Saran district on Saturday while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from one Anirudh Kumar Pandey.
Pandey had earlier informed the vigilance bureau that the SI was demanding bribe from his injured brother for lodging a case. The bureau initiated a preliminary inquiry and found the complaint to be correct.
Later, a trap was laid in which the SI was caught.
In other trap, vigilance bureau officials caught a clerk cum nazir of Baheri circle of Darbhanga district, Manoj Kumar Chowdhary, for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from Sanjiv Kumar Rai for giving him possession of a shop in the circle.
