Bhushan took to Twitter on Thursday stating that he will file an appeal on Friday. "HC granted bail to Class A history sheeter under life imprisonment in two cases and more than 30 serious cases! Will file to cancel bail tom (tomorrow) #JailShahabuddin (sic)", Bhushan tweeted.

A former Aam Aadmi Party member, Bhushan also criticised CM Nitish Kumar virtually holding him responsible for Shahabuddin's release. alias Chanda Babu, whose three sons were killed allegedly by Shahabuddin's henchmen, told a news channel that Bhushan had contacted him for the case about two months back. "The appeal challenging the bail petition will be filed in the apex court on Friday," he said. Prasad, who lost three of his four sons allegedly due to Siwan's Saheb, as Shahabuddin is known among his supporters, said he will fight for justice. "I will live only if I get support," he told mediapersons.

Meanwhile, Asha Ranjan, wife of slain Siwan journalist Rajdeo Ranjan, on Thursday alleged that district magistrate (DM) Mahendra Kumar, instead of supporting her in the fight for justice, suggested her to concentrate more on studies of children. "I was surprised that the DM tried to dissuade me from continuing my fight for justice," Asha told newsmen at Siwan.
