Ara: Shahabad bandh called by the NDA including BJP, Hindustani Aawam Morcha (HAM, Secular), LJP and RLSP evoked mixed response on Sunday. Bandh supporters took out processions everywhere and forced the traders and business establishments to down their shutters though schools and colleges were closed due to due to Sunday.
The supporters reached Ara railway station and stopped Kurla-Patna Express by squatting on rail track and boarding the engine.

They also burnt tyres and blocked the Ara--Patna, Ara-Sasaram, Ara-Mohania main road and also staged a dharna at Mathia mor, Shivganj, bus stand, Tribhuani Kothi mor, Dhobighatawa and raised slogans against the state government and the district administration and demanded immediate arrest of the killers of Visheswar Ojha.
The BJP functionary was killed on Friday in Shahpur area of Bhojpur district.
On the other hand, the district administration had made security arrangements worth the name. Vehicular traffic came to a standstill till noon.
Meanwhile, Ashwini Choubey, former state health minister, observed one day fast at Buxar in protest against the murder and said, "Bihar is sitting on a powder keg and any delay in arrest may lead to great unrest."
