Self-centric parties cannot secure Bihar’s future: Nitin
Patna: Taking a dig at the Congress and the RJD, BJP national president Nitin Nabin said political parties that begin and end with themselves cannot ensure a bright future for Bihar and the country. He was addressing BJP workers at his felicitation programme in Patna on Monday.
He said the BJP is a party that takes everyone along. It recognises hardworking and honest workers and gives them even the highest positions, Nitin said.
Hundreds of party workers greeted him with slogans and songs while waving saffron scarves when Nitin reached Patna for the first time after becoming the BJP national president.
The Bankipur MLA said there are no shortcuts in politics. “Working together with the party’s youth wing is what has brought him to this point today,” he said.
Referring to the Lalu-Rabri Devi regime, he said, “During the era of lawlessness, BJP workers didn’t even dare to leave their homes to distribute pamphlets. The workers of those days faced those challenges, and the party progressed because of their sacrifices.”
He said Syama Prasad Mukherjee inspired nationalism, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya presented the concept of Antyodaya (uplift of the poorest), and today BJP govts are working with the same vision. Former prime minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee gave the mantra of good governance, and today the BJP govts are guided by the ideas of these three leaders.
Later in the afternoon, Nitin felicitated the party MLAs, district presidents and mandal presidents who successfully arranged prime minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme to be heard at their respective booths.
The five-term MLA will visit the state legislative assembly and also participate in various organisational programmes on Tuesday during his two-day state visit. He will also take part in an event in his Bankipur assembly constituency in the afternoon.
Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary said that under the leadership of Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah and J P Nadda, the BJP has formed a govt with a clear majority in the country, and now, under the leadership of Nitin, the party aims to form govts in states such as West Bengal, Kerala, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi said Nitin becoming the party’s national president at the age of 45 is a matter of honour and pride for the state.
