Samrat: Ship repair centre in Patna to boost state economy
Patna: The NDA leaders on Sunday welcomed the Union Budget, saying it would pave the way towards achieving the 2047 target of Viksit Bharat with its strong focus on infrastructure and manufacturing expected to generate employment opportunities in Bihar.
Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary described the Union Budget as welfare-oriented, all-encompassing and visionary, saying it strengthened the resolve for a developed India. “The announcement of setting up ship repair centres for inland waterways in Patna and Varanasi will strengthen river transport and develop both cities as waterways hubs. This will directly benefit the economy of Bihar and create new employment opportunities in the state,” he said.
Union minister and LJP(RV) president Chirag Paswan said the steps taken by the govt to improve ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and ‘Ease of Living’ were commendable. “This Union Budget demonstrates how, through inclusive development, we can transform India into a leading global economy,” he said.
JD(U) state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha said the construction of an inland waterway in Patna would not only boost economic development in the region but also create new employment opportunities. “Furthermore, the construction of the Varanasi-Siliguri high-speed rail corridor will significantly benefit the entire region, including Buxar, Ara, Patna, Katihar and Kishanganj,” he said.
Minister and HAM (S) chief Santosh Kumar Suman said the Budget placed special emphasis on education, skill development and job creation for the youth, economic empowerment of women, increasing farmers’ income, strengthening the rural economy and expanding infrastructure. “Provisions such as girls’ hostels, investments in the education and health sectors, and incentives for MSMEs and startups are significant steps towards building a better future,” he said.
RLM chief and Rajya Sabha member Upendra Kushwaha said the Budget had taken care of the poor, the underprivileged, women and the youth of the country.
