PATNA: The chief judicial magistrate (CJM) of Samastipur has received a threat through a letter by post. The name of the sender on the envelope is Shaligram Kanaujia of Chaita South under Angarghat police station in the district. Police have registered a case.

According to police sources, the letter was opened in front of the CJM in-charge Dharmendra Singh at around 10:30am on Friday. Two slips were found inside threatening to kill those sitting on the chair of justice, reports Kshitiz Singh. Sadar DSP Sanjay Kumar Pandey said the clerk of the CJM office, Rajeev Kumar, has registered the case at Anarghat police station. "The police have have seized the letter. The sender's name and address are being verified to ascertain the authenticity of the letter. Kanaujia has been made the accused. This could also be a conspiracy to create hurdles in the judicial work," he added.
