Rudy announced that the proposed airport is targeted for completion within the next five years. He said the project will rank among the largest greenfield international airports in South Asia and is poised to become a central aviation hub for India.
Situated at just 15 km from Patna, it will offer direct connectivity to Europe, America, Australia, and other international destinations. The MP said the facility will function as a major gateway for air traffic from north-east India, Bhutan, Nepal, West Bengal, and Bihar. He said the project will be linked to multiple road networks, many of which are currently under construction or in the planning stage.
Rudy also commended the Nitish govt for adopting a farmer-friendly approach by fixing land compensation at five times the prevailing real estate rates, ensuring that affected people receive fair value for their land.
The MP extended special thanks to PM Narendra Modi for his support in this endeavour. He also said the airport will significantly boost aviation training opportunities in Patna and across Bihar, while catalysing economic transformation, employment generation, and overall prosperity for the state’s 14 crore residents.
Rudy expressed confidence that the airport will place Bihar on the national and international map.
The press conference was attended by Bihar minister Sanjay Tiger, MLA Krishna Singh Mantu, MLA Chhoti Kumari, and state BJP media in charge Danish Iqbal.
