Rohtas girl stages murder with chicken blood, traced in Maharashtra
Sasaram: In a case that initially raised fears of murder, police have traced a missing teenage girl from Rohtas district to Maharashtra, uncovering an alleged plan to stage her own killing using chicken blood and fake footprints to mislead investigators.
Indrapuri police, with the help of technical surveillance and intelligence inputs, tracked down the duo in Maharashtra, arrested the accused, Mayank Kumar, a resident of Banka under Akodhighola police station area, on charges of kidnapping, and rescued the girl from Bhiwandi in Thane district.
Revealing details at a press conference at Indrapuri police station on Friday, additional superintendent of police Atulesh Jha said the girl had gone missing from Badiha village around 1.30am on April 30.
He said during a search, family members found bloodstains and footprints near a hand pump in another part of the house, triggering fears of murder or a serious crime. Acting on a complaint lodged by the girl’s father, police registered a kidnapping case and launched an intensive investigation.
The ASP said scientific and technical analysis gradually exposed the alleged conspiracy. He said Mayank Kumar, who works as a driver in Bhiwandi, had been in contact with the girl over the phone for the past five years.
According to police, the duo had planned to mislead investigators by spreading chicken blood inside the house to create a fake murder scene before fleeing together. Further legal proceedings are underway.
