RJD stages dharna against Forbesganj firing

Several RJD leaders staged day-long dharna at the JP roundabout near Gandhi Maidan on Saturday to protest the government's inaction in the Forbesganj firing which led to death of four people belonging to the minority community.

PATNA: Several RJD leaders staged day-long dharna at the JP roundabout near Gandhi Maidan on Saturday to protest the government's inaction in the Forbesganj firing which led to death of four people belonging to the minority community.
Addressing the agitating RJD members, former Union minister and national vice-president of the party Raghuvansh Prasad Singh said that the state government is suffering from a guilty conscience and that's why no member of the government has visited Forbesganj so far and say sympathetic words to the victims' families.

He declared that the RJD would continue its agitation till the government fulfill its demands, including bringing in deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi and legislator Ashok Agrawal within the ambit of the judicial inquiry, the inquiry commission submit its report within a time frame and ex gratia payment of Rs 10 lakh be made to kin of each of the deceased.
Members, including several Muslim women, also carried placards slamming the Nitish Kumar government for the firing and killings. Leader of opposition in the legislative assembly Abdul Bari Siddiqui said that the state government is only pursuing the hidden agenda of the RSS and feeling no shame in killing innocent people. State RJD president Ram Chandra Purve and MP Ramkripal Yadav also spoke on the occasion.
