Incidentally, both the booths are in Kauakol under Govindpur assembly constituency. RJD’s Mohd Kamran is the Govindpur MLA. The voting was limited to 4pm in Govindpur and Rajauli assembly segments due to security reasons.

While residents of Kolja village boycotted polling due to lack of roads, people of Dania stayed away from exercising their franchise due to relocation of their both to a safer place some 5km away.

The villagers of Kolja said despite voting on earlier occasions, their demand for a road was not fulfilled. Raju Kumar Sinha, the presiding officer at booth number 298 at Pachamba village, said no elector turned up for voting. Low voter turnout pulled down voting percentage in all the six assembly segments under Nawada Lok Sabha constituency. From 56% plus in 2019, the voting percentage fell to below 50% in 2024.
