‘Rath yatra’ at Gaya today

A fascinating ‘Jagannath Rath Yatra’ will be taken out on Friday by ISKCON temple here. More than 5,000 devotees are likely to participate in the rath yatra. In Bodh Gaya too, the rath yatra would be organized by Shree Jagannath temple on Friday after a gap of two years.

Gaya: A fascinating ‘Jagannath Rath Yatra’ will be taken out on Friday by ISKCON temple here. More than 5,000 devotees are likely to participate in the rath yatra. In Bodh Gaya too, the rath yatra would be organized by Shree Jagannath temple on Friday after a gap of two years. In 2020 and 2021, the rath yatra was not organized due to Covid pandemic.
President of ISKCON temple at Gaya, Jagdish Shyam, said, “A 35-foot-long rath has been prepared for the yatra.

The rath has been painted with different colours to give it an attractive look. In Aurangabad and Jehanabad too, the yatra on the same rath will be organized on July 3 and 9, respectively, by ISKCON temple, Gaya,” he added.
In Gaya, the yatra will begin from ISKCON temple and culminate at the same place after covering thoroughfares like Gewal Bigha, Kashinath Mor, Civil Lines, Kedarnath Market, G B Road, Tekari Road, Bata Mor, Swarajpuri Road and Kashinath Morand Jaiprakash Jharna.
