RANCHI: Even though 36 hours have passed since the mysterious disappearance of city-based businessman Mohd Pervez Ahmed, police are yet to confirm that it is a case of abduction.

RANCHI: Even though 36 hours have passed since the mysterious disappearance of city-based businessman Mohd Pervez Ahmed, police are yet to confirm that it is a case of abduction.
According to the inspector of Namkum police station, Amar Nath, police are trying to find out the "missing" person. He, however, admitted that no one has been interrogated in this connection so far.

He also said that initially there was some confusion in this regard.
"The victim lives at Kadru under Argora police station, but his family members informed the police that he made the last call from Namkum area and it was on the basis of the statement given by his family members that a case of abduction under Section 364 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was lodged with the Namkum police station," said Nath.
Ahmed, a supplier of scientific apparatus to schools and colleges, was reported missing by his family members on Saturday afternoon. Sadiq, Ahmed''s son, said Ahmed left home at around 9.40 am on Saturday in his Santro car. He was supposed to attend a meeting in Jamshedpur with the principal of Co-operative College and then move to Kolkata. He was accompanied by his driver Sagir.
Ahmed made the last call to his son at around 10.10 am from Namkum.
Sadiq also had a talk with the principal of Co-operative College, Jamshedpur, who was also waiting for Ahmed.
Family members went looking for Ahmed all the way to Jamshedpur, but could not find any trace. Gul Firoz, a family friend, said that Pervez had no enmity with anyone.
