<div class="section1"><div class="Normal"><span style="" font-family:="" arial="" font-size:="">RANCHI: An all-party committee under the leadership of state president of women''s wing of the Congress party, Pratibha Pandey, staged a </span><span style="" font-family:="" arial="" font-size:="" font-style:="" italic="">dharna </span><span style="" font-family:="" arial="" font-size:="">and took out a procession here on Wednesday to demand the revival of HEC.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="" font-size:="">The committee included representatives from Congress, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), CPI and various business associations including the villagers who were rendered homeless during the establishment of HEC.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="" font-size:="">According to Pandey the BJP government is solely responsible for the present state of affairs in HEC.
She also added that the committee will now put forward its demand to the central government through the governor.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="" font-size:="">Baljit Singh Bedi member, AICC said, "We would request the central leadership to take steps towards HECs revival".</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="" font-size:="">Urmila Yadav, state general secretary of RJD said she would request the railway minister, Lalu Yadav, to help HEC.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="" font-size:="">Shamsher Alam of RJD congratulated the leaders of various parties for their joint effort.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="" font-size:="">The committee has also decided to submit a memorandum to the chief minister demanding allocation of a relief package of Rs 495 crore, provide electricity in the HEC colony at domestic rates and pay the dues of the corporation accounted on the state government for using its assets.</span></div> </div>
