Railways to build second entry point at Begusarai station
Exciting enhancements are on the horizon for Begusarai railway station, featuring a brand new second entrance to alleviate crowding and improve passenger flow. The Sonepur division of the East Central Railway is diligently crafting a comprehensive project proposal for this upgrade.
Patna: Sonepur division of the East Central Railway (ECR) has announced a comprehensive development plan to construct a second entry point to alleviate congestion and improve passenger experience at Begusarai railway station. This move comes as part of efforts to manage the growing pressure on the station due to increased traffic.According to Sonepur divisional railway manager (DRM) Amit Saran, the railways is set to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for the new entry point, with work expected to commence after the approval of the DPR. The second entry will help to cope with the heavy flow of passengers more efficiently, he said.

In addition to the new entry point, the railways is also focusing on improving infrastructure around the station. A new road over bridge (ROB) will be constructed at Semapur near level crossing (LC) gate number 3. The ROB is expected to ease the bottleneck created by road traffic near the gate which has been a major cause of delays especially during peak hours, the DRM said.According to Sonepur senior divisional commercial manager Raushan Kumar, the railways is optimistic that these infrastructure upgrades will address the increasing demand for better access and smoother movement at Begusarai station and it will go a long way in enhancing overall operational efficiency in the region, he said.
