Railways offers 3% discount on unreserved tickets to boost digital payments
Great news for travelers! Indian Railways is rolling out an enticing 3% discount on unreserved tickets booked through the RailOne app until July 14. This initiative is designed to encourage digital payments and streamline the booking process for those on short trips.
Patna: The railways has announced a 3% discount on unreserved tickets booked through the RailOne mobile application. The discount will remain available till July 14.According to ECR chief public relations officer (CPRO) Saraswati Chandra, passengers can book unreserved tickets using multiple digital payment options, including UPI, debit cards, credit cards and net banking. “This initiative is intended to encourage cashless transactions while ensuring hassle-free ticket booking for short-distance travellers,” he said.

The railways is already offering a 3% discount on tickets booked through the R-Wallet. With the new incentive on the RailOne app, passengers now have more digital options to avail themselves of benefits, the CPRO added.Since the launch of the RailOne app, East Central Railway has recorded revenue of around Rs.20 lakh from passengers using the platform. Nearly two lakh passengers across locations under the ECR jurisdiction have booked tickets through the app so far, he said.
