Patna: The Danapur division of the East Central Railway (ECR) felicitated 67 women employees on the occasion of International Women’s Day at a function held in Khagaul on Friday. The employees were honoured for their contributions to developmental works and the smooth functioning of railway operations in the division.Addressing the ceremony, Danapur divisional railway manager (DRM) Vinod Kumar appreciated the dedication, hard work and professionalism of women staff across departments. The awardees were from operations, commercial, engineering, medical and administrative wings, and played a significant role in supporting the division’s development activities, said senior divisional commercial manager (DCM) Abhinav Siddarth.He added that the participation of women employees in the railways has been steadily increasing and their contributions are crucial for improving services and infrastructure. He also encouraged more women to take up responsibilities in technical and operational fields.Track inspection: Danapur ADRM Rajiv Kumar conducted an inspection of the Patna–Mokama rail section under the Danapur division on Friday. During the inspection, he reviewed track conditions, passenger amenities and ongoing infrastructure works along the route, the senior DCM said.
The ADRM also inspected the parallel rail bridge under construction near the Rajendrapul rail bridge at Mokama.According to sources, the new parallel bridge is expected to improve rail connectivity and enhance operational efficiency on this busy route. Regular inspections and infrastructure upgrades are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen railway services and ensure safe and efficient operations across the Danapur division, sources said.Temporary stoppage: The railways have granted a temporary stoppage of five minutes to several passenger trains at Maihar station in Madhya Pradesh on the occasion of the Navratri Mela. The trains include the Valsad–Muzaffarpur Express, Kolhapur–Dhanbad Express, Raxaul–Lokmanya Tilak Express, Purna–Patna Junction Express and Patna–Bandra Terminal Express from March 18 to March 30, sources said.
