Railway Board chairman inspects Danapur division

danapur: railway board chairman r n malhotra inspected the functioning of the danapur division of the eastern railway on sunday. malhotra carried out inspection from the patna junction to jhajha and then from jhajha to danapur. he inquired about the efforts being made by the division to maintain punctuality of all long distance and commuters’ trains.he wanted to know what were the actual causes affecting normal movement of trains in the division other than the law and order problems. the sources said failure of signals, locomotives and development of technical snags in the overhead electric wires often delayed train movements in the division. railway minister nitish kumar, who was not happy with the functioning of the division, had earlier held a meeting with the senior railway officials at the patna junction and asked them to maintain schedule of all trains at any cost. the visit of malhotra in the division is being viewed as a swift move on the part of the railway board to set right everything in the division, including improvement in the punctuality of mail and express train.
