Addressing media persons outside the council, Rabri said relief materials were being provided only in those areas which have legislators of the ruling NDA. “All the flood victims should be treated equally without any discrimination,” she said.

Meanwhile, the

council

proceedings began on a peaceful note on Monday. During the question hour, most of the questions asked were related to road construction, rural works, agriculture and animal and fisheries resources departments.

Replying to a question raised by JD(U) MLC Krishna Kumar Singh, agriculture minister Prem Kumar said the state government has been preparing a mobile application for farmers and fruit and vegetable sellers. “It will help the farmers know the right price of vegetables and fruits and get fair market price for their produce. By using the mobile app, the farmers will also tally the rates of fruits and vegetables in other states,” he said.

“The department has also proposed to put electronic boards at agricultural production market committees (krishi utpadan bazaar samitis) across the state. The vegetable and fruit prices will be displayed on these boards,” he added.

Questions about widening of road, footpath, construction of overbridges, road repair work and ‘nali-gali yojana’ under the seven resolves of the state government, besides others were also asked.

In the call attention motion, road construction minister Nand Kishore Yadav said, “A guard wall will be constructed on the unmetalled road (kachi sadak) from Sultanganj to

Jharkhand

border. This road was constructed for kanwariyas so that they don’t have to walk on concrete during monsoon. But rain washes away the soil and sand and cause problem to kanwariyas. The wall will be constructed before next monsoon,” he said.
