Pushpam hintsat throwing hatin election ring
Patna: Pushpam Priya Choudhary, president of The Plural Party, who created ripples in the state’s political circles through advertisements in newspapers four years back to launch her career in politics, has suddenly got active ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar due next year. She is often spotted visiting the areas drawing everyone’s attention. On Monday night, she posted a long post on her X handle, saying, “Main zinda hoon…Time brings victory” — a development set to add a new twist to the state politics now with political strategist Prashant Kishor (PK) scheduled to launch his new party on October 2, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. In a post addressed to the people of Bihar, Pushpam, an alumna of London School of Economics and Political Science, subtly attacked PK for “deceiving the people of the state by putting up posters of Gandhi and Ambedkar.” She also mounted frontal attacks on her political rivals for “arranging crowds and managing interviews”.“I sacrificed my personal life to enter the ‘gutter’ of this country’s politics. Like others, I don’t have any ‘Plan B’…I have no intention to cheat the people of the state by putting up posters on Gandhi and Ambedkar. For me, politics is an ideology,” Pushpam said in her post, adding the people of the state wouldn’t fall into these traps.Launching attacks on her rivals, she said “putting up big tents and arranging crowds don’t mean popularity and hold over the crowds.” “Sponsored interviews do not mean being on the ground; rather it only means that media management has been done well,” she said.Claiming the level of politics in Bihar has fallen alarmingly in the last four years, she charged her rivals with copying her party’s ideas and tag line. “Bihar does not need change; it needs meaningful change. Old wine in new bottle is dangerous for Bihar…Opportunists have turned politics into a drama,” she said, taking a swipe at the current state of politics. She added she enjoys good relations with politicians like CM Nitish Kumar.Pushpam, daughter former JD(U) MLC late Vinod Kumar Choudhary, shot into limelight in March 2000, when she issued full front-page advertisements to all local prominent newspapers, declaring herself as “the CM candidate”. “I pledge to make Bihar India’s most developed state by 2025 and bring its growth rate on a par with any European nation by 2020,” she had claimed. She also appealed to the masses to give her a chance. “I want to change Bihar because it deserves a better future. My party is not only a political movement but an exercise to free India from all ills...and this exercise has already started,” was how she had declared through newspapers’ ads.
