PATNA: Life returned to the Patna University campus on Wednesday with the reopening of all its colleges and post-graduate departments after Xmas holidays.

patna: life returned to the patna university campus on wednesday with the reopening of all its colleges and post-graduate departments after xmas holidays. teachers and students were seen exchanging new year's greetings even as the attendance of students was very thin. pu vice-chancellor k k jha released a book brought out by the sanskrit department at a simple function held in his office chamber.

outgoing head of the department sudha rani, presented the details of the publication. as many as three post-graduate departments got new heads in the new year. while maya sinha of the patna women's college joined as the new head of the sanskrit department in place of sudha rani who retired from the university service on december 31, indira sharan of magadh mahila college joined as the new head of the philosophy department. indra kant jha of the patna college joined as the head of the maithili department in place of dinesh kumar jha who retired on december 31. campaigning for the patna university teachers' association (puta) elections scheduled for january 5 has also warmed up as the candidates contesting for various offices were seen moving from one college to the other to seek the support of their colleagues. while most candidates belong to two different groups, one led by science college principal jagannath thakur and the other led by dharam shila prasad of magadh mahila college, some independent candidates like n k p sinha, surendra singh and l n ray are also in the fray.
