PU convocation: 1,500 scholars to get degrees on January 20

This is the second time when Pranab Mukherjee will be delivering the convocation address at PU. Earlier, he had attended the convocation when he was the Union finance minister in 1984. G P Sinha was the vice-chancellor (VC) of PU and the function was held at Patna Science College.

PU examination controller R K Mandal said more than 100 scholars will be awarded PhD degrees. The university will not confer DLitt or DSc degree to the students this year.

(PU) to be held at S K Memorial Hall on January 20. As many as 38 students who have topped the examinations of different courses will be awarded gold medals. Former President Pranab Mukherjee will be the chief guest.This is the second time when Pranab Mukherjee will be delivering the convocation address at PU. will preside the ceremony and PU VC Rash Bihari Prasad Singh will give away the degrees to the students.
