GAYA: The bullet-ridden body of a 55-year-old property dealer was recovered from the farm field at Bajitpur village under Magadh medical police station area in Gaya district on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Govind Prasad Verma, a resident of Khiriyawan village, located along Gaya-Bodh Gaya Road. Police were conducting technical investigation to get some clue about the criminals.
According to family members, the deceased had left home on Friday evening but did not return till late night.
He also did not respond to the phone call made on his cellphone. On Saturday morning, villagers of Khiriyawan spotted his body in the farm field and informed the police.
"Prima facie it seems he was shot in the head from close range. However, the actual cause of his death will be clear from the postmortem report. A dog squad and the FSL team have conducted spot inspection to get some clue about the criminals," said Magadh medical SHO Shailesh Kumar.
