Patna: A prisoner, serving a life sentence in Siwan Mandal Jail, died on Monday after a sudden increase in blood pressure. According to the jail authorities, Pappu Singh (48), a resident of Shakara village in Tarwara police station area of Siwan district, was convicted of a murder in 2019. The case dated back to 2015, when a land dispute led to a violent clash, resulting in the death of one person. Jail superintendent Devashish Kumar Sinha said Pappu's health suddenly deteriorated, and he was rushed to Siwan Sadar Hospital, where he was declared dead. The body was handed over to the police after an autopsy.
