Police recover Rs32 lakh during vehicle checking in Patna City
Patna City police intercepted two individuals attempting to evade a checkpost, discovering Rs32 lakh in cash on their motorcycle. Preliminary inquiries suggest the money was collected from a company and was en route to Bardhaman, West Bengal. Authorities have alerted the income tax department and are investigating the money's origin and the suspects' claims.
Patna: During a routine vehicle-checking drive on Tuesday, police recovered Rs32 lakh in cash from two persons who attempted to flee upon spotting a checkpost in Mogalpura area of Patna City.SDPO-II of Patna City, Gaurav Kumar, said: “A total of Rs32 lakh in cash was found by the police team during the search of the bike they were riding. Preliminary interrogation revealed that the money was collected from a company. The arrested persons claimed they were transporting the money to Bardhaman in West Bengal. Further details are being probed as part of the ongoing investigation.”

The SDPO added, “The income tax department was informed, and all necessary legal procedures are being followed. An investigation is underway to ascertain the exact source of the money, verify the claims made by the suspects, and determine if any further action is required under relevant laws.”
