PATNA: On complaint of Bihar State Housing Board (BSHB), Patna police arrested Bihar Police Men’s Association’s former President
Jitendra Narayan Singh (62) for constructing of an illegal hotel on land of the BSHB near Rajeev Nagar police station on Friday.
Rajeev Nagar police station SHO Rohan Kumar said that BSHB executive engineer (in-charge) Zia-ul-Hassan lodged a complaint that Jitendra had started construction on the sixth floor of SS Exotica Hotel owned by him which is mere 200 meters from the police station.
“Along with Jitendra, nine labourers were also arrested who were doing the construction in his presence,” the SHO said adding that the BSHB official said that the entire hotel built on two kattha of land is illegal as the land is owned by the housing board.
This is second such action of police against illegal construction in Rajeev Nagar after a violence that took place during removal of illegal construction by BSBH officials. Police had to fire atleast 25 rounds in air during the violence.
On October 8, rural works department sub-divisional officer (SDO) Suman Kumar and four others were arrested from Chandravihar Colony under Rajeev Nagar police station. The SDO was constructing his illegal residence.
Five arrested with ganja: Police arrested five drug smugglers and seized 41 kgs of ganja from area near Rajendra Nagar bridge under Kadamkuan police station on Friday. Rs 1.23 lakh and a cellphone was also seized from their procession. The arrested smugglers also include kingpin Hareram Gupta of village Pandura of Bhojpur district.
One arrested: Police arrested Ashok Rai for sheltering the killers of Danapur ward councillor Kedar Rai from Naya Tola under Danapur police station on Friday. Rai was shot dead on during morning walk at Hathikhana in Danapur. Four persons have been arrested few days back in the case. Danapur SHO Sandeep Kumar Singh said he had harboured the killers at his rented accommodation in Naya Tola.
