Dipunj told TOI over phone the four accused reached the petrol pump in an SUV around 8.30am and demanded petrol even though other vehicles were lined up ahead of their vehicle.
“When Dharmendra asked them to wait, he was thrashed. Soon an SI from the Neora outpost reached the spot and took the four away,” Dipunj said, adding the four again reached the outlet with at least ten supporters within an hour, thrashed everyone and looted around Rs 8 lakh from the cash counter.
Alleging the accused even fired in air, Dipunj said the police outpost was located on a rented plot owned by Vikas. “That’s why police were lenient towards them,” he said.
Bihta police station SHO said the CCTV footage of the petrol pump was being scanned. “A scuffle did take place but no one is visible in the footage of the CCTV camera installed at the cash counter,” he said, adding that no one was arrested yet.
