People of Bihar don’t want return of ‘jungle raj’, says MP CM in Banka rally
Bhagalpur: Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav on Wednesday appealed to voters in Bhagalpur and Banka districts to ensure a clean sweep for the NDA in the assembly polls, asserting that Bihar has witnessed remarkable development under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar since 2005.
Yadav was addressing an election meeting to seek support for BJP candidate from Katoria (reserved) assembly constituency, Puran Lal Tudu, in Banka district. “Bihar, a revered land, has changed for the better. People here know which alliance is better for them and the state,” he said.
The Madhya Pradesh CM said the Nitish Kumar-led NDA govt in Bihar has worked tirelessly for the state’s progress and freed it from ‘jungle raj’. He added that under Nitish’s leadership, Bihar has witnessed remarkable improvements in road connectivity, power supply, law and order, women’s empowerment and healthcare.
He praised PM Narendra Modi for enhancing India’s global stature and driving rapid development across all sectors, adding that both the PM and CM are committed to Bihar’s all-round growth.
Amid chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’, Yadav addressed gatherings in the five assembly constituencies of Banka district—Katoria (ST), Dhoraiya (SC), Banka, Amarpur and Belhar—asserting that the NDA guarantees development and rule of law, while the INDIA bloc represents corruption, misrule and lawlessness. “People of Bihar do not want a return of jungle raj,” he said.
Referring to Chhath, Yadav described it as a festival of faith that also highlights the importance of preserving nature. He said both the central and state NDA govts are committed to development while maintaining ecological balance.
Terming the Grand Alliance “a sinking boat”, Yadav compared the NDA to the ‘Panch Pandavas’ of the Mahabharata—with JD(U) led by CM Nitish, BJP by PM Narendra Modi, LJP (RV) by Chirag Paswan, HAM(S) by Jitan Ram Manjhi and RLM by Upendra Kushwaha. “We will defeat the Kauravas,” he said, in an oblique reference to the opposition.
Later in the evening, Yadav, along with former Union minister and BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain, addressed an NDA rally in support of LJP (RV) candidate Mithun Kumar Yadav from Nathnagar constituency in Bhagalpur district.
Hussain said Yadav had come as a ‘sarathi’ (charioteer) for the ‘Pandava brothers’, and urged Nathnagar voters to support the LJP(RV) candidate in the name of development and ‘sushasan’ (good governance). He said the NDA would ensure victory in all seven assembly segments of Bhagalpur district—Kahalgaon, Pirpainty, Bhagalpur, Nathnagar, Gopalpur and Bihpur—and five in Banka, making it 12 wins in the Bhagalpur division.
