Patna: Even as the monthlong summer vacation has already commenced in Patna University (PU) colleges and postgraduate (PG) departments from Saturday until June 21, the university is gearing up to hold all its examinations of undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate academic programmes during the vacation itself. For UG students, the third-year final (semester VI) examinations of the session 2023-27 in arts, science and commerce streams, which were earlier scheduled for May 23, have now been postponed to June 2. According to the revised examination schedule, the examinations will be held from June 2 to 9, PU examination controller Benoy Kumar Lal said.“For PG students, the final (semester-IV) examinations of 2024-26 session are likely to commence on June 8. All the final semester students of MA, MSc and MCom courses have been asked to fill their online examination forms by June 1, 2026. The last date for filling up examination forms and depositing examination fees with late fine for PG examinations is June 3,” he said. The heads of postgraduate departments have been directed to validate the examination forms filled by students latest by June 5. “Only those students who have secured a minimum of 45% marks in the continuous internal assessment (CIA) are allowed to fill the end semester examination form,” the controller said.
Lal added that many university teachers have volunteered not to take their summer vacation and instead participate in various examination-related works, such as invigilation and evaluation, conducting practical examinations, and evaluating answer scripts during the vacation. “Such teachers would be entitled to get earned leave for the period they will be on duty,” he said. The work of admission of students to the UG programmes of different colleges under the PU is also in progress. The online applications submitted by students for admission to the regular as well as self-financing courses are being received through the Samarth portal, the last date being May 30.“The entire admission of different categories of students to the UG courses is likely to be completed during the vacation itself,” PU students’ welfare dean Kameshwar Pandit said, adding that the process of admission to the postgraduate courses of PU will start on June 10.
