Patna to soak in devotional fervour with 51 tableaux on Ram Navami this year
Patna: The state capital is set to be immersed in devotion and celebration as Ram Navami, marking the birth of Lord Rama, will be observed with grandeur and traditional fervour on March 27. With colourful tableaux, grand processions and cultural performances planned across the city, the Shri Shri Ram Navami Shobha Yatra Abhinandan Committee has promised to turn Patna vibrant, showcasing faith, unity and cultural heritage.
The Shobha Yatra will feature 51 attractive tableaux from various localities of Patna, depicting the life and ideals of Lord Rama. Additionally, 52 grand processions will be taken out from different parts of the city, filling Patna with the spirit of Ram Navami.
The committee appealed to people to hoist the Ram Dhwaja (flag) at their homes. Around two lakh Mahaviri Dhwaj will be distributed to households, while one lakh Vikram Samvat calendars will also be distributed on the occasion.
Senior BJP leader and the party’s national president, as well as convenor of the Shri Shri Ram Navami Shobha Yatra Abhinandan Samiti, Nitin Nabin, along with the samiti’s president Jagjivan Singh ‘Bablu’ and other members, addressed a press conference to share details of the preparations for the Shobha Yatra scheduled for March 27.
Addressing the media, Nabin said, “Ram Navami is an important festival of Sanatan Dharma, celebrating the life of Lord Rama. The committee has made elaborate arrangements for the event. Like every year, a grand celebration will be organised in Patna this year as well.”
This year, the processions will start from different localities and follow traditional routes before converging at the famous Mahavir Mandir near Patna Junction. Devotees, especially women, swaying to Ramdhun amid saffron flags accompanying each tableau, are expected to be a major attraction. The various committees will be welcomed and felicitated at Dak Bungalow Chauraha, the main attraction point of the procession.
Artists from across the country will participate in the event, including a renowned band from Mumbai, a dance troupe from Jharkhand and a Ganga Aarti team from Kashi. The main stage will be adorned with idols of Lord Rama and Hanuman.
“Ram Dhwaj will be installed at all major chowks and roundabouts in the city. Followers of Sanatan Dharma are also requested to hoist Ram Dhwaj on their terraces as a symbol of faith and unity. Other puja committees have also been requested to distribute flags in slum areas,” Nabin said.
He further said the entire city will be decorated with colourful LED lights and flowers. The event is expected to be attended by dignitaries, including governor Syed Ata Hasnain, CM Nitish Kumar, Dy CMs Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha, and BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi. “The committee will make arrangements for drinking water and sherbet for devotees along the procession routes, and attractive gateways will be set up on major roads,” he added.
