Patna-Jaynagar Intercity Express flagged off

Railway minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off three new passenger trains, including Patna-Jaynagar Intercity Express (15549-15550), Singhrauli-Hazrat Nizamuddin Express (22167-22168) and Singhrauli-Bhopal Express (22165-22166), through remote control from the Rail Bhawan in New Delhi on Saturday morning.

PATNA: Railway minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off three new passenger trains, including Patna-Jaynagar Intercity Express (15549-15550), Singhrauli-Hazrat Nizamuddin Express (22167-22168) and Singhrauli-Bhopal Express (22165-22166), through remote control from the Rail Bhawan in New Delhi on Saturday morning.The Jaynagar–Patna Intercity Express will run via Muzaffarpur-Hajipur-Pataliputra Junction every day. It will leave Jaynagar at 6am and reach Patna Junction the same day at 1.40pm. On its return journey, it will leave Patna Junction at 3pm and reach Jaynagar the same day at 11 pm.East Central Railway (ECR) CPRO Rajesh Kumar said the intercity express would have stoppages at Pataliputra Junction, Sonepur, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Sakri and Madhubani stations.A large number of passengers travelled by the train during its inaugural run on Saturday. It has the load combination of 16 coaches, including two AC chair car, 12 second class chair car and two brake vans, Kumar said.Meanwhile, the Danapur division of ECR has launched a ‘Save Energy’ campaign under which it saved energy worth over Rs 50 lakh each in June and July. “The campaign will continue,” said Danapur DRM R K Jha.
