PATNA: Most parts of the state were lashed by heavy showers till the early hours of Wednesday with Patna alone receiving 94 mm of rain in 24 hours- the second highest September rainfall in a decade. The only time it rained more in the past 10 years was on September 12, 2016, when the state capital recorded 133.8mm of rain.The daily weather bulletin issued by the Patna Meteorological Centre said light to heavy rainfall occurred at most places in the state over the past 24 hours with very heavy rainfall at one or two places.Motihari recorded the highest rainfall at 190mm followed by Birpur and Bhimnagar receiving 170mm of rain each. The other areas which received high rainfall are Kessariah (150mm), Sahebganj (150mm), Chakia (140mm), Dhengbridge (140mm), Islampur (130), Ramnagar (130mm), Phulparas (120mm) and Madhwapur (120mm).
