Patna: Unidentified motorcycle-borne criminals shot dead an 18-year-old vendor in Bandariya Gali in Maccharhatta under the

police station in Patna City on Thursday evening. The deceased was identified as Sunny Kumar, son of one Mantu Prasad.
The incident took place around 8.45pm, when Sunny was returning home after packing his cart. Hearing the gunshot, the locals gathered near the spot. However, the assailants managed to flee. According to the police, the youth died on the spot after which his body was sent to NMCH-Patna for postmortem.
Patna SSP Manavjit Singh Dhillon said the reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained. “The police will record the statement of the family members after autopsy. The police are investigating the case and CCTV footages were being scrutinised to identify the miscreants.”
Police said Sunny used to sell gulal and abeer on a cart. The armed assailants came on a motorbike and fired at him, however, the police are yet to ascertain their number. Police have recovered three shells from the spot.
