Patna: The Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) has allotted 7.14 acres to Osam Dairy to set up a modern dairy processing unit in Muzaffarpur, involving an investment of Rs 85.03 crore. The project, cleared by the project clearance committee on the direction of industries minister Dilip Jaiswal, is expected to generate direct employment for over 200 people. The land has been allocated in the Dumaria Industrial Area of the Motipur cluster.
Jaiswal said on Thursday that the proposed unit will manufacture a wide range of dairy products, underlining the state govt’s focus on promoting agro-based and food processing industries to boost employment.
Industries department secretary Kundan Kumar said BIADA is facilitating investments by providing land, infrastructure and time-bound approvals. He added that the project will help spur local economic activity, create jobs and reduce post-harvest losses through scientific processing and value addition.
